3- and 4-Star Hotel Accommodations

The following hotels must be booked directly by sending an e-mail to hotel reception. We provide a list of recommended hotels in the vicinity of the Brevnov Abbey.

Please book directly into the following hotels by e-mail:

Hotel ADALBERT. Marketska 28, Prague 6; E-mail: recepce@hoteladalbert.cz; www.hoteladalbert.cz. Clearly the number one choice among the listed hotels. Situated directly in the Brevnov Abbey, a one-minute walk to the sessions. Newly opened in a 250 year-old building, offering a marvelous view of Baroque architecture. Several rooms for larger families/groups also available. Price per person per night: single ca. 120 Euro, double ca. 80 Euro per person. 45 beds available. For previous scientific meetings organized in the Brevnov Abbey, Adalbert was hopelessly overbooked. So be prepared to book asap.

RESIDENCE MONASTERY (Strahov). Strahovske nadvori 13/134, Prague 1; E-mail: monastery@avetravel.cz; www.hotelmonastery.cz. Located in another monastery in the very historical center of the city, near the Prague Castle. The buildings at Strahov date back to the 12th century. A place visited by Mozart and Beethoven two centuries ago. A beautiful view of the entire city from a vineyard just 1 minute from Residence Monastery entrance. Ugly pictures on the walls in the reception area, but overall very good value. A tram stop 2 minutes from the hotel, 15 minutes by tram to reach the symposium venue at Brevnov. Price per person per night: single: ca. 70 Euro, double: ca. 38 Euro per person. 33 beds in 12 rooms.

Hotel QUESTENBERG. Uvoz 15/155, Prague 1; E-mail: hotel@hotelq.cz; www.hotelq.cz. Located in the vicinity of Strahov Monastery (and Residence Monastery, see above). Breathtaking views of the Prague valley. This is where all guided walking tours of the Castle area start. The hotel facade resembles an old church. A tram stop 3 minutes from the hotel, 15 minutes by tram to reach the symposium venue at Brevnov. Price per person per night single: ca. 110 Euro, double: ca. 63 Euro per person.

Hotel U KRALE KARLA (The King Charles Hotel). Nerudova – Uvoz 4, Prague 1 Hradcany; E-mail: ukrale@iol.cz; www.romantichotels.cz. Close to the picturesque Neruda street which connects the Prague Castle with the Lesser Town Square and Charles Bridge. Beautiful view of the Petrin Hill Park and a downscaled Eiffel Tower. A tram stop 8 minutes from the hotel, then 15 minutes by tram to reach the symposium venue at Brevnov. Price per person per night: single ca. 100 Euro.

Hotel NERUDA. Nerudova 44, Prague 1; E-mail: info@hotelneruda.eu; www.hotelneruda.eu. Just one minute from the 11 hundred-year old Prague Castle, the historical residence of the Bohemian kings and Medieval Roman Emperors. Classy interiors, a truly charming place. Just climb to the ramparts of the Castle and enjoy a unique view of Prague in a nut-shell at twighlight. A tram stop 10 minutes from the hotel, then 15 minutes by tram to reach the symposium venue at Brevnov. Price per person per night: single ca. 125 Euro, double ca. 73 Euro per person.

Hotel AUREUS CLAVIS. Nerudova 27, Prague 1; E-mail: reservations@aureusclavis.com; www.aureusclavis.com. Named for the „Golden Key“ house sign, and located in the upper part of the steep Neruda street, just 3 minutes from the Castle. A shopping and dining area in the heart of a 13th century city full of Renaissance and Baroque palaces which nowadays serve as embassies of foreign countries. A time-tested hotel for the guests of the Czech Geological Survey. A tram stop 12 minutes uphill from the hotel, then 15 minutes by tram to reach the symposium venue at Brevnov. Price per person per night: single ca. 100 Euro, double ca. 50 Euro per person.

Hotel HORMEDA. Na Zastrelu 422/15; Prague 6; E-mail: hormeda@hormeda.cz; www.hormeda.cz. Off-the-beaten-track, two minutes from the Kajetanka Dormitory. Unexciting 1930s neighbourhood, but within a walking distance from the symposium venue at Brevnov Abbey (ca 12 minutes). Price per person per night: single  ca. 105 Euro, double ca. 53 Euro per person.

Hotel MARKETA. Na Petynce 45, Prague 6; E-mail: Marketa@europehotels.cz; www.europehotels.cz. Again, the neigborhood is not very exciting, but a mere 12 minute walk from the Brevnov Abbey. Price per person per night: single  ca. 43 Euro, double ca. 29 Euro per person.

Please note that in most cases the room rates offered to walk-in symposium organizers were lower than rates offered at hotel web sites. The rates may vary over time due to fluctuations of the exchange rates between the Czech crown and USD/Euro.
