Carbon in Peatlands:
and Future Research
15-18 April 2007
Wageningen, the Netherlands
The symposium was visited by 180 scientists from
18 countries. Countries with the highest representation include the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the United States, Germany, Finland, and Canada.
Given the rich scientific content of the 3-day symposium, we would like
to encourage participants to contribute to the public outreach of this event. We
are currently establishing the following publication framework:
1. EOS, Transactions, AGU, Meeting summary (coordination by Kelman
Wieder, Gabriela Schaepman-Strub)
2. EGU Biogeosciences Online Journal
(http://www.copernicus.org/EGU/bg/bg.html) for a special issue on carbon
3. Oikos (review article coordinated by Juul Limpens)
Please let us know if you are interested in contributing to the special
section in Biogeosciences.
Please use the following citation guideline for the proceedings containing the symposium abstracts:

We are currently discussing the appropriate framework and location for a
follow-up event of the symposium with PeatNet. Participants will be notified by email. More information will be posted here as soon as available.
Thanks to the organizers, sponsors and participants for a wonderful symposium!
