Mission
PeatNet is an acronym standing for the Peatland Ecosystem Analysis and Training NETwork. PeatNet is an international, interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers, students, and professionals working in some capacity in northern peatland ecosystems. Activities support a central question:
- How do the structure and function of northern peatland ecosystems respond to climate change and human/natural disturbances over past, present and future time scales?
Two goals of the network are:
- to encourage and foster interactions among scientists at various stages in their careers, and
- to enhance the education and training of the next generation of peatland ecosystem ecologists.
